Hawaii

We're here! It's been one of those days from almost missing the first flight because we couldn't get Dad and Charlene through security in Oklahoma City (lethal toothpaste and .... a knife!) to almost getting Charlene caught in a tram door in Dallas to someone walking off with our laptop after arriving in Hawaii...... Janice almost had to tackle the guy after running him down in the jetway.

Headed back to get Kerry and crew --- they are due in about an hour --- So Janice and I are headed back to the airport to pick them up ---

It's been raining here most of the day but the house is literally on the ocean --- as I type, I can hear massive waves crashing against the breaker wall about 60 feet from the back door.

Pictures tomorrow ---

Back to Minnesota

Got Adam, Katie and Tyler back to Minnesota this morning -- plane was delayed as always but think they had a good trip back.

Got most everyone back together last night for a quick meal and enjoyed the kiddo's one last time.

And yes, we had a little snow on the roof as we headed to the airport this morning.

Countdown to Hawaii has begun! L&J

Turkey Bowl 2007

AJ, Adam and I had a pretty good time playing a little sandlot football yesterday morning in the annual TurkeyBowl on Christi's side of the family---Temps were in the 30's and windchill in the 20's but it was great. Everyone was feeling the pain last night and I'm a bit better this morning -- AJ and Adam had a great time discovering how just a year into fatherhood is now affecting their bodies and, hey, I went 2 for 2 with a first down and touchdown --- no one guards the old fat man with his hands in his pockets...

Enjoy! Especially for AJ's sake.

Pre-Thanksgiving

Katie and Tyler arrived from Minnesota on Sunday and Dad/Charlene made it to Oklahoma City Monday/Tuesday. Managed to get Little Virg over on Monday and had a typical Vaughn Family roast dinner. David joined us from Blanchard and it was a great night.

Dad/Charlene headed back to Stigler yesterday and Adam is flying in this afternoon.

Depending on weather, may be a little family football game tomorrow morning. Katie and crew fly back next Monday.

Let's see if I can get a few photos posted of Dad/Katie/Tyler and myself.

More later as I get the hang of this.

Almost Thanksgiving

With Hawaii and the USS Oklahoma Dedication ceremony just around the corner, it has been pointed out to me several times that we should try this medium as a way to convey our various day to day activities outside of direct email.

And so we shall see.
