All Work and No Play?

Been a pretty intense week so far --- Janice has been hacking and coughing for the last 10 days so made her hit the doc's today and has strep throat so she's out of commission for awhile --- CJ hasn't been feeling well either so he's banned from daycare for a couple of days so they've been home together today.

Client appts pretty much every 30 minutes so no rest for for the wicked at this point and not a lot of fun handling the office by myself but you have to do what you have to do.

HEY --- it can't all be work and no play --- so keeping up with all the blogs and looks like Tyler is doing well, Matt's walking down the hall, Sara's still up and going and Maddy might be swinging out on the east coast......

We're gonna be fine --- we now have St Maximu of Taximus watching over Janice and I everyday courtesy of Miss Janie from Stigler....... Just doesn't get any better than that... And it you click on that pictures closely, also have Grape Ape, Mr. Walrus and Mr. Mouse helping out.

Gotta run, Janice needs some grocery items and we're expecting a major coating of ice across the state tonight.... And I probably need to come back later for a few more hours.....

Rainy Days and February

You know you're in troube when the weatherman says "It's going to get worse" and already there's ice on the cars and the parking lot is a skating rink. Cold wet gray day in Oklahoma City which is ok with me. No appointments --- just a quiet day to work and reflect on family and life and how fast it seems to fly by. Kenny Chesney's on target with "Don't Blink" me thinks.

Since the last post, it's a been a crazy start to tax season but well underway at this point --- lots of returns filed and lots to file. Janice has been in/out of the office tending to CJ since he's not been in daycare due to a case of impetigo that went too long before treatment. And been having a computer server problem in the office which has resulted in some lost email traffic but oh well, everyone will write back won't they? And Janice has been fighting a head cold for the past week also.

Valentine's Day was pretty normal also in the great plan of life....

Game Plan One: Leave Thursday noon and go to Dallas, spend the night at the Marriott on one of their "Just Married" specials with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, do our "Steve Problem" on Friday and drive back late Friday or early Saturday morning and work the weekend to make up for Thursday/Friday. --- Scratched for a lot of reasons but mainly due to anticipated weather and the office loads and we're just plain behind from last week.

Game Plan Two: Early relaxing dinner out and a movie -- scratched because we have to take care of CJ till Melissa gets home at 8:30pm so that's a 5pm to 9pm lockout usually.

Game Plan Three: Late dinner out at 8:45pm at TGIF Fridays and we're both so tired we pretty much just "drank it" with a side order of potato skins and sliders. At one point before this, I told Janice her options were whether she wanted a fish or nuggets happy meal and a Dora DVD to watch at home...

So, finally did Three, not the happy meals, scratched the late movie and agreed to go home to a nice quiet alone house to bed to revel in our "being alone" and an early nights sleep. At which around 10:15pm, phone rings and Melissa is locked out of her car on the opposite side of OKC and Janice has the only other key. So, now it's just me reveling in our waterbed alone watching Leno....and almost asleep by the time Janice returns...... Russell Crowe, Larry the Cable Guy and Willie Nelson -- quality entertainment.

However, I did manage a www.pajamagram.com gift card during the day as a backup so everything went well in that department --- need to check it, pretty cool site. Unfortunately, it does bring home the fact that it's "pajamagram.com" and not "sexythings.com"

So, next year? Fish or nuggets? And maybe just a extra large tee shirt...

Weatherman says we could just get rain or maybe 2" of ice or maybe 10" of snow --- all depends on the temperatures and how they moderate. All I can say at this point, it's appearing to be ice on the agenda for today.

Back to work -- hard to do on Friday when you know the entire weekend will probably be at this computer also....

SuperBowl Sunday!

Superbowl Sunday meant AJ/Christie needed some adult time so Matt spent the evening with us. CJ shared the hot meal Janice cooked up.

But I don't think Boogie was done when CJ was done....

Too much food means a quick trip to the clean-up facility...

And GP taking a bite ...

Fitness is #1 on Matt's top ten list...

and then it was time for a refreshing beverage....

And when it was all over --- don't think that Little Virgil
was too happy with the results --- but hey, it's "Football"
